Needs Assessment
-
Before considering residential care, you should have a Needs Assessment. This ensures you receive the level of care you need.
-
To get an assessment, your GP can refer, or you can phone your local Needs Assessment and Service Co-ordination Service (NASC)-https://www.nznasca.co.nz/regions
-
A Needs Assessor will visit you at home or in hospital and guide you through the process.
Apply for Residential Care Subsidy or Loan
-
Your Needs Assessor will provide you a Residential Care Subsidy or Loan application form, with the Needs Assessment Certificate already filled in.
-
Complete the application form and submit it, along with required supporting documents, to Work and Income for approval.
-
Payment can be backdated 90 days from the time application is received by Work and Income. You are responsible for the cost of care until subsidy / loan payments begin. Please discuss with us if this is a problem.
Moving in
Let the NASC know that you have selected us. We will then assist you through the admission and moving-in process. You are in safe hands with us.
